Provavelmente a ave mais amplamente distribuída e mais abundante das matas da Gândara, o Tentilhão-comum (Fringilla coelebs) é conhecido localmente por Trinca-pinhão. Durante a época de reprodução, o macho veste-se para a ocasião com tons mais vivos, ostentando os lados da cabeça e peito ruivos, coroa e nuca cinzentas-azuladas e o manto castanho-ruivo. Sem dúvida, um galã das matas!
